Ozzy wine gets a boost from podcasting
Fri 30 Nov 2007 06:19The Australian wine industry is educating the world on it's wine regions using podcasting - and the results are looking very promising.
The Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation launched the podcast series, Crush, in April this year, and have had over 10,000 downloads so far. "By enabling people to simply download a host of regional information and listen to it on their computer or iPod we've taken Australia's wine regions to the world", says Lucy Anderson, Manager of International Marketing and Communications. There are now 47 episodes available and the project has been so successful, a series of videocasts is now under production.
Significance to Internet marketers
This is another wonderful example of the use of podcasting in communication and education, rather than a direct marketing approach. Listeners will be entertained, and educated on Australian wine. Next time they're in the supermarket I wonder which wines they'll be looking at first?
