Estate Agents Benefit from Blogging
Thu 06 Dec 2007 08:49If you're an Estate agent, take a look at these Real Estate Agents in the USA who are using blogging to educate their prospective clients and generate leads.
Real estate agent Judy Greenberg, an agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Buffalo Grove, started a blog 2 weeks ago. A couple in California read one of her posts and contacted her about a $1 million home in Long Grove. Although the couple has not found a home yet, they are scheduled to return for a second visit with Greenberg in January.
“It gives me great exposure,” said Greenberg. “I blog so that people know that I am knowledgeable about the towns they want to move to.”
Another recent story from Arlington Heights, USA. Fran Bailey, a Baird and Warner real estate agent, was recently contacted by a potential customer while she was busy with some other clients. Because she could not meet with the woman immediately, she referred her to the blog for posts about the customer's area of interest.
“She was very pleased by the information that she found,” Bailey said. “She indicated that what my blog was providing her was very different than what the standard real estate Web site provides.”
“It has helped differentiate me in the market,” Bailey added. “I definitely get business because of my blog.”
Some valuable insights from Craig Schiller, the owner of Park Ridge-based Real Estaging. He encourages realtors to use their blogs to highlight what's going on in their communities. Anything from a high school band concert to a new restaurant, local events can be informative for people shopping for a new hometown.
“They are going to think this person knows this community,” Schiller said. “They are going to want to work with this person – that’s the value of blogging in the real estate industry.”
Significance to Internet marketers
We know that one of the main reasons people use the Internet is for information. And, according to The National Association of Realtors, the proportion of home buyers using the Internet in their search process has risen from 71% in 2003 to 84% in 2007.
Estate agents in the UK need to take heed and seriously consider blogging, and indeed podcasting, as a way of differentiating themselves from their competitors. Blogging can be a fantastic way of showing off your expertise and knowledge of the geographical area you operate in.
